I remember perfectly the day I made my first piece of jewelry: it was before attending the Hangout Music Festival on the beach. I didn’t think much of it back then, but now I know that day marked a before and after without me even realizing it. But let’s go back to the start!

Growing up, I never really wore much jewelry. My mom lived paycheck to paycheck and dad never bought me anything—unless it was school clothes. So blossoming into a young adult, I didn’t have the desire to buy jewelry, but it was something that often lurked in the back of my head. The perfect piece of bijou can make or break an outfit and I always had a keen eye for it.

Shortly before attending the Hangout Music Festival, I was working as a server at The Lodge at the Gulf State Park. I had a friend there named Milly, and we were talking about what I was going to wear to the festival when she casually mentioned that she knew how to make jewelry. I had an idea of something that could match my festival outfit perfectly, so I pulled out my phone and showed her an image online. Imagine my surprise when she told me that’d be easy to make!

Three days later, we were at Hobby Lobby, getting wire and beads for me to practice with. After a few attempts, I made my first necklace for the Friday show. And I still have that necklace to this day!

It wasn’t until three weeks later, after I went to a Snails show in Mobile, that I had the idea that would kickstart my small business. During that show, I bought my first spoon. The artist took it from the display case and put it on a string so I could wear it around my neck. I didn’t think much of it at the start, but when I was getting ready for Liquid Stranger, I noticed the spoon didn’t look cute with my outfit—something was off. But I still wanted to show the spoon, so that’s how I came up with the idea to wire wrap a chain for it. And imagine my pleasant surprise when everyone fell in love with it! The next thing I knew, all my friends wanted one too. Without even trying to, I’ve found my niche.

Since then, I’ve been working hard to create something unique so you can feel your best at a festival or show. I believe being confident in oneself is important because I used to be that girl that had no confidence whatsoever. I was constantly comparing myself to other people and changing my mindset and finding self-love is what helped me take significant steps toward becoming confident in everything that I do!

So without further ado, I hope you enjoy my pieces as much as I enjoy making them!
